Privacy Policy
Last updated: 27 October 2026
DmReel is operated by Technolaar (KVK 94215057, Lelystad, the Netherlands). It lets an Instagram professional account automatically answer comments that contain a word you choose with a private message. This page explains what we store, why, and how to delete it.
What we store
- Your account: your name and email address. If you sign up with email, a hashed version of your password (never the password itself). If you sign in with Google, your Google account ID, name, email address and profile picture. If you sign in with Instagram, your Instagram user ID.
- Connected Instagram accounts: the Instagram user IDs, the username and the access token Meta issues for the account.
- Your automations: the trigger words, messages, links, public replies, and the chosen post (its ID, link, caption and thumbnail link).
- Activity: for each comment that is checked against your automations, the comment ID, the commenter's Instagram username and ID, the comment text and whether a message was sent; taps on buttons in a message (the Instagram ID of the person who tapped). Taps on link buttons are counted per automation without recording who tapped.
Why we process it
Only to run the automations you set up and to show you their results: matching comments against your words, sending the messages and public replies you wrote through the official Instagram API, and counting results. We don't sell your data, share it with advertisers or use it to train models.
Who processes it for us
- Neon, Inc. (database hosting, United States)
- Netlify, Inc. (website and application hosting, United States)
- Google LLC (only when you sign in with Google)
- Resend, Inc. (to send account emails, such as the welcome and password reset emails)
Cookies
We use one cookie to keep you signed in and one to remember your language. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.
To see how the site is used, we count page visits without cookies: the page, the site you came from, your country and whether you use a phone or computer. Your IP address is not stored. We only keep a code derived from it that changes every day, so visits can't be followed from one day to the next. Visit counts are deleted after 13 months.
Keeping and deleting data
Data is kept for as long as the Instagram account stays connected. Disconnecting an account in DmReel, or removing DmReel in Instagram's settings, immediately and permanently deletes its access token, automations and activity. To delete your whole DmReel account, email us. See the data deletion page for every option.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you can ask to see, correct, export or delete your personal data, and object to how it's processed. Email info@technolaar.com. You can also complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
